terms of service

by using robot.guard you agree to these terms. if you don't agree, please don't use the service.

robot.guard is a tool for generating a standards-compliant robots.txt — whitelisting the bots you want and blocking ai scrapers you don't. the editor is free; an optional pro subscription adds cloud-saved configs, multi-site management, sync across devices, and a maintained ai-scraper blocklist.

you must be at least 13 to use robot.guard. accounts use passwordless magic-link sign-in — you're responsible for keeping access to your email account secure, since anyone with the link can sign in as you. keep your account details accurate.

you agree not to:

• use robot.guard for anything illegal or to infringe others' rights;
• abuse, attack, scrape, overload, or attempt to disrupt or reverse engineer the service;
• attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that aren't yours.

a robots.txt is an instruction, not an enforcement mechanism — it asks well-behaved crawlers to comply but cannot technically force any bot to obey. you're responsible for the rules you publish and for reviewing the generated file before you deploy it to your site.

pro is offered on weekly, monthly, or annual billing, processed by stripe. by subscribing you authorise us, via stripe, to charge the applicable fee, which renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.

• cancellation.you can cancel any time from the billing portal (linked in your account). cancelling stops future renewals; you keep pro access until the end of the period you've paid for.
• refunds. fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
• price changes.we may change prices; we'll give you reasonable notice before a change affects your renewals.
• taxes. prices are in usd and may exclude applicable taxes.

the configs and rules you create are yours. you grant us the limited licence needed to store, process, and sync them so we can run the service for you. robot.guard's software, design, and brand remain owned by ogbuilds ltd.

robot.guard relies on third parties (for example stripe for billing, resend for email, and our hosting and database providers). your use of those services through robot.guard may be subject to their own terms, and we're not responsible for them.

robot.guard is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. we don't guarantee that any crawler will honour the rules you generate, or that the maintained blocklist is exhaustive or current at any moment. you're responsible for validating your robots.txt for your own site.

to the fullest extent permitted by law, ogbuilds ltd is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. our total liability to you is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £100 if you're on the free tier. nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.

you can stop using robot.guard at any time and close your account. we may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or use the service in a way that risks harm to it or to others.

these terms are governed by the laws of england and wales, and the courts of england and wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

we may update these terms from time to time. we'll update the date above, and continued use of robot.guard after a change means you accept the updated terms.
